Accessing Your CPP Account

Step 1

If you do not have a 4 digit EI access code, you will need to get a 7 digit personal access code BEFORE registering for access to your CPP account. After you’ve completed the process below, your new access code will be mailed to you within 5-10 business days. Once you have your personal access code, you can proceed with Steps 2 and 3.

  1. Go to the Service Canada website at www.servicecanada.gc.ca and select “English”.
  2. On the right-hand side click on “Access My Service Canada Account”.
  3. Under “New Users” click on request a personal access code.
  4. At the bottom of the page, click on “Continue”.
  5. Again, at the bottom of the page, click on “Continue”.
  6. Fill in requested information and click on “submit”.
  7. Enter postal code and omit the “I am a foreign resident” selection. Click on “submit”.
  8. Confirm your home mailing address and click on “submit”.

Step 2

First you need a User ID and password (GCKey)-the following steps will assist you if you do not have one. If you have a User ID and password see the next page.

  1. Go to the Service Canada website at www.servicecanada.gc.ca and select “English”.
  2. On the right-hand side click on “Access My Service Canada Account”.
  3. Click on “Register” link under New Users.
  4. On the bottom left click on the “Continue to GCkey”.
  5. On the “GCkey Log In or Register” page, click on “Register for a new GCKey”.
  6. Click on “I accept”.
  7. On the “Create Your Registration Information” page:
    - Type in a UserID in the “Create Your User ID” field
    - Select a recovery question from the drop down menu
    - Complete the “My Recovery Answer”, My Memorable Person”, and My Memorable Date” fields.
    *If your UserID and password meets the criteria, green check marks will appear next to the UserID and password fields. If red x appears, make the necessary changes to your UserID or password. Your password must be different than your UserID.
  8. Type in a password in the “Create Your Password” and the “Confirm your Password” fields.
  9. Click on “Continue”.
  10. On the “GC Registration Complete” page, click “Continue”.
  11. On the “Client confirmation” page, click on “Register” under the heading “I am a new user or I have forgotten my previous User ID and/or password” and then click “Continue”.
  12. On the “Privacy Notice and terms of conditions” page, select “I agree”. (If you agree)
  13. On the “Authentication” page, provide SIN, Date of birth (year,month,day), your 4 digit EI Access Code or 7 digit Personal Access Code and your Province. Click "Submit".
  14. On the “Confirming Your New User ID and Password” page click on continue.
  15. On the privacy statement, click on “I Agree”. You now have a User ID and password to access My Service Canada Account anytime you want-in future.

Step 3

Once you have your User ID and password, follow the steps below to get your CPP statement.

  1. Go to the Service Canada website www.servicecanada.gc.ca. On the right side, click on “Access My Service Canada Account”.
  2. Click on “Sign In” under Returning Users.
  3. Click on “Continue to GCKey”.
  4. Enter your “UserID” and “Password” and hit “Log In”.
  5. On the Welcome page click on “Continue”.
  6. You can now view or print your CPP statement.
